I am a Madison native and have lived here for most of my life. My undergraduate degree is in Organizational Behavior and Leadership, and before returning to pursue my lifelong dream of becoming a therapist, I owned a small business for many years.
I completed my Masters of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) in Madison, WI where I learned a systems approach to individual, relationship, and family therapy. I have enjoyed working with people from all walks of life, including those from the LGBTQAI and altsex communities. My commitment to social justice extends to my practice, where I strive to treat everyone with sensitivity to their personal life experience.
I am trained in EMDR, Prepare/Enrich relationship evaluation, and Divorce Discernment Counseling, a recent short-term alternative to marriage counseling whose focus is not on solving marital problems but on exploring the potential for solving them.
As your therapist, my intention is to create a warm, safe environment in which you feel comfortable and accepted; however, there will be times when I challenge you, and you will challenge me. We will work together to determine your needs and what you are willing to work toward in your personal growth and fulfillment. We all have strengths and skills, and together we can nurture yours.
